Rice Patties
So I made some rice patties today because I didn't want to waste the rice I had left over from the other night and I was so proud of how they turned out. I added a few things to them but one thing that I didn't know was that if you take flax and water it will make an egg substitute. It was really good with this and held together well. I love making things from scratch. :) This is the recipe that I used most of it is from a recipe I found online but I also added a few things myself. Enjoy!
3 cups leftover brown or white rice
2 small carrots
1 medium onion, grated in food processor
2 cloves minced garlic, minced in food processor
1 t salt
½ t pepper
2 eggs or 2 t ground flax and 5 t water
½ cup whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 t beef seasoning
1/2 cup ground pecans
Vegetable oil of your liking for frying
Made this with a can of Cream of mushroom mixed with one can of water and boiled til gravy like :)

Two days of Toddler Terror
So the past two days have been so bad that I didn't even bother to get out my camera, at least not for long. lol Yesterday started out with a baby powder mess and having to clean sheets, today started out with baby poop and bleach on my sheets (looks like tie dye really) and then sharpie marker on my pillow cases and mattress box springs. That was my best set of sheets and the whole set was wiped out in a day. Needless to say I have been washing a lot of linens lately. Asked my daughter why she made the mess yesterday and she replys "because I knew you didn't like it." Can't wait for the age of 4. Anywho this is a picture of my 3 year old and although I didn't get my camera out for the messes I can show you a previous mess of baby powder to let you see the full extent of a mess from my daughter. haha

2 steps back one step forward
So I took some pictures of a friend's little girl's birthday party the other day. I really enjoyed it as I have felt cooped up in the house since the arrival of our newest addition in May. And it gave me a chance to get behind the camera again. There is one thing that I find everytime I take pictures is I always make mistakes. Although I don't like mistakes I am glad for them as they help me grow and see where I should be headed next. This time the mistake was the ISO feature on my camera. I had it set to 1600 the whole time in the light. Granted my photos were great, but because of such a high ISO all of them had a grainy feel to them. So I was left sickened by the whole lot of them. Now I know the difference and why to set my ISO to the lowest possible setting for the light. Here is a photo of my little Sarah during the party :)
